Missions

Our Vision

To aggressively carry out the command of Christ's great commission. Therefore, we view missions as an essential ministry of our church and our individual members. We are committed to the mobilization of our own resources (prayer, monetary, and human) for the objective of reaching all peoples of the world for Christ.

Our Definition

To glorify God in any missional endeavor outside our local congregation that fulfills the Great Commission while modeling the Great Commandment. This includes:

proclaiming the gospel of Christ,
making disciples, and
connecting them with a local body of believers, while
relating to the needs of the total person (spiritual, physical, emotional, and social).

Our Scope

Carrer Missionaries: Palmcroft grows, sends, and supports career workers in partnership with the national church and missions organizations. We currently support over 90 long-term workers in 35 countries.
Short-term Ministries: Palmcroft also sends, at the request of our missionaries and organizations, short-term teams of students and adults throughout the world. The primary goal of these teams is to serve our missionaries and national partners. Teams have worked on projects such as English as a second language (ESL), construction, medical and dental clinics, and children and youth ministries. We believe preparation is the key to successful trips and work with our teams to insure that every one is fully equipped for the ministry God has planned.

Our Values

To Glorify God The purpose of all Christian endeavor is to glorify God (2 Cor. 3:18; Rev. 4:11). God is glorified when people everywhere submit to His will.
To Obey the Great Commission It is vital that the missions philosophy of this church encompasses the Great Commission of Jesus Christ (Matt. 28:19, 20) given to His disciples as the Church's on-going directive until He returns. The Great Commission is obeyed when people are introduced to Jesus Christ as Savior (evangelism) and assisted toward maturity in obeying Christ (discipleship).
To Model the Great Commandment The Great Commandment gives the responsibility to each believer to love God and to love our neighbor. This demonstration of love shows the world we are His followers (John 13:35). Compassionate acts of love are effective tools in the evangelism and discipleship of all nations for Jesus Christ.
To Depend on the Holy Spirit Every believer is a witness for Jesus Christ (Acts 1:8). Any believers, selected by the Holy Spirit and identified through the local church, will be equipped, commissioned, and sent out by this church as missionaries.
To Deploy The book of Acts presents the principle that world missions is to be accomplished by local churches--local churches that select, send, and support missionaries to evangelize and disciple peoples outside of the local church with a view to starting other local churches and bringing them to maturity. Reciprocal accountability and responsibility between the local church and its missionary (Acts 13:1-3, 14:21-28) will be the biblical norm. Therefore, Palmcroft will endeavor to continually seek out those Christian workers from our local body who are qualified, to commission them as our missionaries and to help support their missionary efforts both prayerfully and practically in obedience to the Great Commission.
